Why FootGolf

What is FootGolf?

FootGolf is a precision sport where players kick a soccer ball into a cup in as few shots as possible. Its name is a portmanteau of "football" (meaning soccer) and "golf". It is closely related to golf. Simply put, it is golf with a soccer ball. It is a marriage made in heaven: footy and golf. Best game ever invented!!

So Why Golf, I mean FootGolf?

  • Golf courses are good for the environment, providing wildlife habitat, filtering runoff, and a 7-10 degree cooling effect compared to surrounding urban areas
  • Golf is an excellent source of exercise - hey, so is FootGolf!
  • Walking 18 holes burns up to 2,000 calories and meets most physicians daily fitness recommendations - exactly

FootGolf rules

This wonderful game is played for the most part, without the supervision of a referee.

The game depends on the integrity of the player to show consideration for other players and to abide by the rules.

All FootGolf players should conduct themselves in a very disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy at all times and true sportsmanship, regardless of how competitive they may be.

This is the spirit of the FootGolf game.

FootGolf rules are based on the Rules of Golf, but with some considerations and particulars as detailed on this page, in the Official FIFG Rule Book.
